So, Fall Break is upon us. My school had a slight dysfunctional thing where apparently the exact date of fall break was not agreed upon. So, some professors have their syllabii saying that fall break is next week, the 6th to the 9th, and others say that it's not until the 13th. The official declaration has come forth saying that fall break is in fact next week, but for some reason a lot of the professors still have not heard this. That or they are ignoring it, since it messes up their schedules. I'm not sure.
One of my friends and I are heading to my Aunt and Uncle's house for break. They live nearbye and for some reason they love to have us over. I have no idea why. All we do while we're there is sit like useless lumps on our computers using their normal-speed internet, because here at school our internet basically fails at life.
But anyway, that's where we are going. All of our other friends are either going home or going with each other home. The reason we are going to my relatives is because both my friend and I live 1,000 miles away from home, and all of our other friends have cats which my friend is allergic to.
Over break I hope to accomplish a tiny bit of homework, a lot of catching up on internet stuff (aka watching anime), and lots of sleeping. Hey, isn't that what break is for?

Books
I haven't done a post about books yet, which is kind of a travesty because I am probably the biggest bookworm ever. All my life I would carry around a book everywhere I went, so if I had a second when I wasn't doing something I could whip it out and read. My local library had a borrowing limit of 50 books, but they frequently let me pass that limit because they knew me and thought my obsessive reading was fantastic.
My room at home as three bookshelves, one that reaches to the ceiling and two that reach up about to my waist. When I was packing for college I had to decide what books to bring, and that was a terrible decision. I ended up only bringing a few, I brought my Lord of the Rings set, my Chronicles of Narnia set, my collection of Artemis Fowl books, six of my favorite Redwall books, and my collection of Fruits Basket that I'm working on expanding. Fruits Basket is a manga, one of my favorites. There are 23 volumes and I am determined to own them all. Right now I own 12.
Here at college I don't have too much time to read books for pleasure, which is terribly sad, but I do find moments once in a while to curl up with one of my favorites and enjoy it. I guess this all relates back to the fact that I want to be a Children's and Young Adult's librarian. Which is why I'm majoring in English. Anyway, I guess the gist of this post is that I LOVE BOOKS!!! :)

Glee!
Sooooo, one of my favorite newish tv shows starts its second season next week. I am very excited. I stared watching this show before the second part of season 1 last year. I watch it here at school with a few of my friends. So why do I love this show so much, you ask?
Well, I love music. And this show has GOOD music. I'm talking about REALLY good. Don't believe me? Check this out. They take good songs and make them better.
This show is about real high school. It's not like High School Musical where everyone is healthy and happy and dances in the hallways. Stuff happens in this show that happens in real high schools, to real kids.
All the characters are completely believable as real high school kids.
The dialog is hysterically clever at times, touchingly sad at others, and incredibly meaningful.
Altogether this show is a joy to watch, and I can't wait for next Tuesday!

As warned, here is a post about grades!
I somehow managed to get a 4.0 my freshman year here at school, and since then, it has become an unhealthy obsession of mine to keep my 4.0 as long as possible. I know that grades shouldn't matter that much. I know that unless I go to get my Master's degree it won't matter what my GPA was, just that I got my degree. I know that I shouldn't put relationships on the back burner so I can study. But even though I know all this, I can't help it. There's a crazy woman in my head waving a paper with an A+ on it, screaming "Do better! Do better! If you don't do just as good or better you're not worth a crap!" She drives me nuts! But I can't get rid of her.
I'm taking Spanish this year, and let me tell you, I'm absolutely terrible with languages. I just can't learn them. Plus, our teacher, as wonderful a man as he is and as much as I think he's fantastic, he jumps around during lessons and I'm having a hard time focusing and learning what I'm supposed to. Though I'm going to do my best in his class, I can see my 4.0 going down the drain, and I need to be ok with that. I guess I want myself to be perfect, when I'm far from it.
Anyway, I have to go study for my Spanish test, which is tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Getting Started
Well, here I am.
I suppose I should explain the name of my blog. It's after one of my favoritest poems of all time, "Nevermore" by Edgar Allen Poe. And the picture is of a raven, again from the poem, and a cross, because I am a Christian
This blog will basically be me ranting about various things, from my obsession with grades, to my completely nerdy love of anime, cartoons, books, etc.
Oh, and you can check out my youtube, (Click Here!) and enjoy my awesome videos. (SHAMELESS SELF-ADVERTISING) If you're into anime, then there is some stuff for you, if you like music I've got some videos of me pounding away on my piano, and if you don't like anything I do, feel free to leave a disparaging comment. :D
The End.
P.S. Don't forget to feed my fish on the bottom of the page! The first people to ask can name them. :3
